Baptism in MONASTERY // GREECE

Baptisms are an important milestone in a person’s life and an opportunity to celebrate love, family, and tradition. As photographers, we are always thrilled to capture these special moments, and that’s why we were so excited to be part of a recent baptism in Monastery of Retha in Amfilochia, Greece.

The event was full of beauty, color, and joy, and we’re excited to share some of the highlights with you today!

The Holy Monastery of Retha is a stunning, historic religious site located in the Amfilochia region of Greece. The church was founded in the 16th century and is known for its rich history and stunning architecture. It was the perfect setting for this special baptism ceremony, which was filled with traditional Greek customs and a vibrant, celebratory atmosphere.

The baptism took place in the peaceful and serene atmosphere of the monastery’s chapel, which was decorated with beautiful, ornate mosaics and paintings. The baby was dressed in a pristine white baptismal gown, and the godparents and family members were dressed in traditional Greek clothing, adding to the festive atmosphere of the day.

The ceremony was conducted by a priest, who blessed the baby and immersed them in the font, symbolizing their cleansing and renewal through the grace of God. The baby’s parents, godparents, and other family members gathered around the font, surrounded by the love and support of their loved ones.

After the ceremony, the family stepped outside into the bright Athenian sun for some photos. The Holy Monastery of Retha provided a stunning backdrop for the photos, with its vibrant, colorful architecture and lush greenery. The happy faces of the baby’s loved ones added to the beauty of the day, and their joy was palpable in every photo.
