The colorful baptism in Kyparissia at Peloponnisos, Greece was an unforgettable event.

Nestled on the western coast of the Peloponnisos peninsula, Kyparissia is a charming town with a rich history and cultural heritage.

The baptism took place at a small village at Filiatra and the local church, a beautiful white stone building with red ceramic roof and ornate frescoes inside .

As we arrived at the church, the streets of this small village at Filiatra, were alive with activity. People of all ages were milling about, chatting and laughing as they made their way towards the entrance. The atmosphere was festive and joyful, as if the entire village had come out to celebrate this special occasion.

As we entered the church, the first thing that struck us was the vibrant colors that filled the space. The walls were adorned with intricate mosaics and frescoes, each one more beautiful than the last. The altar was adorned with a golden icon of the Virgin Mary, surrounded by flickering candles and fragrant flowers.

The ceremony itself was a moving and spiritual experience. The godparents, dressed in casual look , stood by the font as the baby was baptized in holy water. The priest performed the ritual with great care and reverence, speaking in ancient Greek as he immersed the child in the water.

After the baptism, the guests made their way outside to the courtyard, where tables had been set up for the celebration. The tables were filled with delicious sweets and cool juices, such as Macaron, pastry cups, lemon juices, etc. There was also plenty of water to cool off the guests due to the heat prevailing that day. The creator of this perfect setup was Dora Pantazopoulou from Dora Dora Filiatra

Τhen headed to the beach, to a beautiful restaurant where the guests dined with the family. As we sat down to eat, the sound of music filled the air. Speakers played lively Greek music, and people of all ages got up to dance. The atmosphere was joyous and celebratory, and it was clear that this was a special day for the entire community.

As the evening came to a close and the sun set over the beautiful beach area of Kyparissia, we left feeling deeply moved by the experience. The colorful baptism in Kyparissia at Peloponnisos, Greece was a truly unforgettable event, one that we will always cherish in our memories.
