Baptism in Poros Island : A Beautiful Destination Ceremony.

Poros Island , situated in the Saronic Gulf of Greece, is a stunning location that attracts people from all over the world. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a destination baptism ceremony there, and it was a truly magical experience. The ceremony took place at the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin (Daskalio), a beautiful church that sits atop a hill overlooking the island’s stunning coastline.

The little girl being baptized was named Iliana Maria, and her family had traveled all the way from New York for this special occasion. Friends and family members from all over the world also joined in the celebration. The event spanned two days and was filled with fun, sun, and festivities.

On the first day, everyone enjoyed a boat ride around the island, stopping off at various stunning beaches for swimming and cocktails. The weather was hot, and the clear blue waters were a refreshing escape from the heat. As the sun began to set, the group gathered at a beach bar to enjoy the sunset and celebrate the start of this special weekend.

The second day was the main event, with the baptism ceremony taking place at the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin (Daskalio) aka Exoklisi Koimisis tiw Theotokou .

The family and their guests arrived at the church by boat, creating a memorable entrance. The ceremony itself was simply breathtaking, with the golden light of the setting sun casting a warm glow over the proceedings. The atmosphere was joyful and celebratory, and it was clear that this was a truly special occasion for everyone in attendance.

After the ceremony, the family and guests returned to the Sirene Blue Resort , where a reception dinner and Greek traditional party awaited them. The resort was the perfect location for the reception, with its stunning views of the sea and luxurious amenities. The dinner was a feast for the senses, with traditional Greek dishes and local wines on offer. The party that followed was a true celebration, with dancing, laughter, and joy.

In conclusion, the baptism ceremony in Poros Island was a truly unforgettable event. The stunning location, the warmth of the Greek hospitality, and the joyous atmosphere made it a weekend that will be remembered by all who attended.
